HISTORY

Myx started out in the music industry as a performing artist (rapper) whilst simultaneously working as a writer and producer for a range of signed, emerging and published artists. His first recording experience was in London, was he started as a recording engineer intern and quickly became the studios main engineer, working with the likes of UK R&B and soul singer-songwriter Terri Walker at Poisonous Music. Myx then went on to form his own company formerly known as The Q Entertainment (now Qirv Music) which led to his first major record label releases as a producer and songwriter through Arista / BMG in 2004 when he was still a teenager for artist Nina Jayne’s hit records “Could’ve Been” and “Anything”.

Myx then went on to release his first production album “The Q Overdue” independently as a limited edition soft release featuring a number of recording artists and remixes and gaining him more recognition as a talented emerging producer at the time. Myx also received particular support from BBC Radio 1 for his promo track on which he rapped and produced “Make It Happen” which was a featured record for some months on their website thanks to Ras Kwame’s “Home Grown” show.

Since then Myx has been producing and writing for many artists with a list of credits to his name and working within the music industry as a key person within the UK scene. However now his recent quest so to speak is releasing his own material as a Producer-Artist with the featured vocals of various artists.

The multi-genre producer is clearly influenced by an array of genres including Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Soul, Gospel and Classical Music and after recently completing his Bachelor of Music degree in Composition; he is keen to incorporate composing into his production. When talking about the vision of his music he expresses;

“I want my music, regardless of genre, to be epic, dramatic and cinematic in one way or another. I want to create “sonic-movies!”

In the world of music business and industry, in 2006 Myx played a pivotal role in the launch of Music World Entertainment International owned by Mathew Knowles, manager of the biggest selling girl group in the world Destiny’s Child and father of global Superstar Beyonce Knowles. Developing and pitching the proposal Myx was key to the new venture. This was to be the international arm of the parent company Music World Entertainment and would focus on territories outside the US and Canada.

Holding multi faceted roles including Director of Operations and Finance, Myx played a senior and influential position in the company for 3 years. In March 2009 Myx parted ways with MWEI to continue the development of Qirv.

May 2009 saw Myx cement his relationships with Island / Universal Records and EMI Music Publishing inking both record and publishing deals for singer–songwriter Haidara (formerly H-Boogie) via Qirv Music and Qirv Management whose hit record “Love Has Gone” with Dave Armstrong & Redroche is a club dance classic (also co-written and vocally produced by Myx Quest). Success continued with the H-Boogie and Get Far single (co-produced by Myx Quest) “The Radio” which reached Number 1 in the US Billboards Dance Chart in 2010 as well as Number 1 in various countries and charts across Europe.
